  • Balbisiana is a species with a round, bulbous base and flat, thin and light green leaves which come out from the center. With age, the leaves grow quite long and will cascade down the sides of the plant. Balbisiana produce beautiful deep red blooms. As a comparison, we would say that they are similar to a Bulbosa plant but with less rigidity in their leaves. These are endemic throughout Central America, Northern South America and the Caribbean.

    Quick Care Guide

    Air plants like consistent, bright, indirect light. Avoid full summer sun.

    Soak your air plants in water for about 30 minutes once a week for full hydration.

    Make sure your plants dry completely before placing them back in a display or globe.

    Never plant your air plants in soil. This will induce rot.

    Air plants prefer temperatures between 50–90°F. If you're comfortable, they're comfortable.

    Don't worry, we will replace any plants that arrive dead or perish within 30 days.
