  • Named for the Greek goddess Medusa and her hair of snakes! Caput Medusae is one of our most popular tillandsia. The leaves are smooth and project up and out from a bulbous base. A very unusual species of air plant native to Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama and sometimes called the octopus plant. When Medusae blooms you will be amazed by her blushing leaves and bursting bloom.

Quick Care Guide

Air plants like consistent, bright, indirect light. Avoid full summer sun.

Soak your air plants in water for about 30 minutes once a week for full hydration.

Make sure your plants dry completely before placing them back in a display or globe.

Never plant your air plants in soil. This will induce rot.

Air plants prefer temperatures between 50–90°F. If you're comfortable, they're comfortable.

Don't worry, we will replace any plants that arrive dead or perish within 30 days.
